Good evening friends. I hope you all had a blessed day. I do believe spring is here and I am so very thankful. I picked a beautiful bouquet of lilacs this morning and they smell so heavenly. I just love those fresh bouguets put in an old mason jar or galvanized bucket. Have you all had you some fresh blooms yet this spring? I always have people ask me...Tina, what is your style? I used to know exactly what my style was...die hard primitive! I had very few new things in the house. It ALL had to be old. But about a year ago I started having a mid life crisis ( or so my dear husband thought). My taste began to change. My house felt dark, almost depressing to me. Wellllll, that got me thinking and the first thing I did was paint all my rooms white. I loved how with a little paint my rooms started coming alive again. The light coming in made me feel alive, happy and so full of energy. So I kept going. Lightening up the accessories. I have always loved burlap, jute and natural textures. Bought me some new lamps(from and actual store) not just some old thing I turned into a lamp.i basically fell in love with with bright and light rooms. I don't know what you would call my style. It has elements of cottage, shabby chic, primitive, urban farmhouse and a few Vintage things thrown in the mix too. All I know is it's home. Our home and I love it. It is definitely my happy place. I have had more fun with my home in the last year than I had in a long time. It opened my mind to new things. Things I would never had before now I am loving. Stores I wouldn't have bought anything at before now I love those places. Can anyone say Homegoods or TJ Maxx? can you relate? I hope that you all find the joy in making your home your own. Don't try to be like everyone else. Take risks and create something unique like you are. My hope for you is that your home is your happy place. Sweet dreams my friends, we will talk again soon. Tina P.S. if my spelling, grammar or punctuation is bad(which I am sure it is) its because my brain is working faster than my fingers type. Plus I am so not used to this I pad thing. Just bear with with...hopefully it'll get better.
